So it's been a while since I have updated so I appologize to those who have been checking and no updates. So this month I have started a new quarter at Rose, well sort of. My grades weren't the best so I am retaking a few of my winter term classes. Last weekend was a good time. I went to Chicago for a Pike Leadership Conference. We had a blast even tho we got lost a few times. Each night we decided to just go out and see Chicago and walk around. After being stuck in Terre Haute so much, Chi-town is frickin' huge! We would just walk around and after a couple hours, try to figure out where we were and how to get back and hopefully recognizing something. It was quite the adventure. And there is nothing to do in Chicago if you are under 21. But we had a good time any way. Baldauff, my big brother, came and took us out to lunch as he lives in Chicago. It was nice to see him again. Speaking of which, I found out last night that he was accepted to the position of Graduate Assistant here at Rose for next year, so he's gonna be coming back. So go Baldauff!! He's coming back, and that's gonna be great. This weekend is gonna be a blast as well. Tonight I am going to an Indy Ice (minor league hockey) game. I am very excited. I have never been to a hockey game before, much to Caroline's dismay. But now I am finally going, hooray! And then tomorrow is the Stars and Cresent Ball, the Tri-Delta Formal. That will be much fun. Caroline and her roommate of next year, Heidi came up with this great idea to decorate their room next year. See they have these two flamingos that they named Walter and Ethel. They made clothes for these flamingos and are taking pictures of these two in random places arund the nation. And then they are taking those pictures and blowing them up to 8x10 pictures and will wallpaper the room with them. Think Amele with the gnome, only this is for decoration. I think it sounds like an awesome idea, very creative, something Caroline is good at, creativity. But anyway, we are bring Walter and Ethel with us to the formal and taking fun pictures with them. Things are coming along for Brigadoon, our spring musical. Altho I wonder if they are coming along fast enough. There is this sense of urgency that seems to be missing even tho we open in a week from tonight. There are still a couple songs we haven't even choreographed yet. I'm freakin' out, man. But the director seems to stay rather calm about it. Mr. Lodle would be going nuts right about now, but oh well. I get to swordfight, so that should be fun, but the swords aren't even in yet, so we'll see how that turns out. Well that's all I got for now, and now for some quotes.

Quotes of now:
Tim: "Excuse me sir, what is there to do in Chicago if you are under 21?"
Police Officer 1: "Not a F#$@&*% thing."
Police Officer 2: "You can go south into the ghetto, they'll serve you."
Police Officer 1: "Yeah they'll serve you. Kill you, rape you, eat you."
Police Officer 2: "Ha ha, right. I won't go there in broad daylight."
~How assuring it is to hear this from the Chicago police officers.

Our Basketball game played our sister school in Japan here at home as a last exhibition game. This was their (Japan's) preseason though. Anyway, it was a good game, and our guys ended up winning by like 7, but not until after being down by 15 at 10 minutes left and the bench being brought in to regain the lead and win it. Nice to see our bench come back and play so well.
Kevin Lanke: "What was your record in Japan?"
Japan coach: "15-0, but that was with seniors. These guys bad."
~Boy if that was bad, I wonder what is good.

Amber: "You know what came to mind when you said 'Dying Duck'?"
Lindsey: "Flying F#@$?"
Amber: "No preying mantis."
~Ahhhh, I see the logic.

At the conference one thing that was emphasized was having the balls or the "testicular fortitude" to do certain things, leading to a new Pike T-Shirt Idea:
"Pi Kappa Alpha. Building Testicular Fortitude since 1868."

Lyrics of now:

Title: Mood Rings
Artist: Relient K
Album: Two Lefts Don't Make a Right, But Three Do

we all know the girls that i am talking about
well they are time bombs and they are ticking
and the only question's when they'll blow up
and they'll blow up; we know that without a doubt
cause they're those girls, yeah you know those girls that let their emotions get the best of them

and i've contrived some sort of a plan to help my fellow man
let's get emotional girls to all wear mood rings
so we'll be tipped off to when they're ticked off
cause we'll know just what they're thinking
cause what they're thinking...

she's so pretty but she but doesn't always act that way
her mood's out swinging on the swing set almost every day
she said to me that she's so happy it's depressing
and all i said was "someone get that girl a mood ring"

if it's drama you want then look no further
they're like the real world meets boy meets world meets days of our lives
and it just kills me how they get away with murder
they'll anger you then bat their eyes; those pretty eyes that watch you sympathize

and i've contrived some sort of a plan to help my fellow man
let's get emotional girls to all wear mood rings
so we'll be tipped off to when they're ticked off
cause we'll know just what they're thinking
cause what they're thinking...

she's so pretty but she but doesn't always act that way
her mood's out swinging on the swing set almost every day
she said to me that she's so stressed out that it's soothing
and all i said was "someone get that girl a mood ring"

cause when it's black (it) means watch your back because you're probably
the last person in the world right now she wants to see
and when it's blue it means that you should call her up immediately
and ask her out because she'll most likely agree
and when it's green it simply means that she is really stressed
and when it's clear it means she's completely emotionless (and that's all right i must confess)

we all know the girls that i am talking about
she liked you wednesday but now it's friday and she has to wash her hair
and it just figures that we'll never figure them out
first she's jekyll and then she's hyde....at least she makes a lovely pair

mood ring oh mood ring
oh tell me will you bring
the key to unlock this mystery
of girls and their emotions
play it back in slow motion
so i may understand the complex infrastructure known as the female mind

[speaking:]
heh...that's terrible
